Nena yo...

...let me start from the beginning...
...my dad had 7 brothers and sisters...
...he was the baby of the family...
....his siblings had one to three children each, or none..

...my dad had two...I happened to be the last one, and of course the baby of the family...
..I have 10 first cousins from my dad's side, who some of them are now great grandparents, and I, on the other hand,  have a 16 year old child...

****

...this morning I was invited by my first cousin Anetta who has 3 grandchildren and one of her daughters is a year older than me... in my mind, though, our age difference doesn't exist...

...we were together for many hours, having coffee, looking at pictures, remembering things from the past...
...the comfort that I felt was so familiar to me...

...I'm so grateful to her for reminding me so much of my mom...
...for taking me in her arms and treating me as if I'm one of hers...

...she made a big pot of coffee, brought out special cookies and cheese from the island, and we talked and talked and talked...
...as I was leaving I asked her if she wanted to adopt me (!!!)...

...I have missed my mother so much...
...her Sunday lunches, her afternoon teas, her gatherings...

...sometimes, us moms need to have someone to nourish us and give us comfort...
...a little boost, to carry on...
