El dia, dia...

...what have I been doing lately...

...I'm going through a quite period...not having much to say here...but I have been very busy with my book, writing, photographing, baking, cooking...planning trips (oh yes!)...ironing, ironing, ironing!!!

...I'm reading a book that I received a few months ago...

...if you have the stomach for it, read it!
...it will keep you up at night, wanting to read one more page, one more chapter...
...it's a true story...
...the story of Ingrid Betancourt who for 6 years was taken hostage by FARC
a terrorist guerrilla organization and was held in the Colombian jungle...

...I've been trying to loose 2 kilos ever since I came back from Spain...
...I believe that the less you have to loose the better, because once you start putting on, it's harder to loose when it's too many, you become discouraged...

..someone sent me a joke that said:

"Outside of a gym in France, a huge poster was placed, of a very sexy blonde in a bikini, with a sign underneath that said:
"Do you wish to be a mermaid or a whale this summer?"
A middle aged woman who didn't have similar characteristics with the sexy blonde would pass by almost every day and get annoyed by it.
So, she decided to put her thoughts in writting and post them underneath the poster.

She wrote:

"Whales are surrounded by friends such as dolphins, sea horses, sea elephants and people. They have an active sex life and they produce adorable baby whales. They have a great time next to their friends, eating sardines and shrimp, playing in the water, and traveling to exotic seas.  Whales sing very well and have recorded CDs, they live freely and are being protected by many organizations.

Mermaids do not exist! If they did exist, they would queue outside the offices of psychotherapists, suffering from an identity crisis. What am I, fish or human? The mermaids can not have sex, whichever man approached them, in mythology, died and mainly because they lack the proper "equipment". Without sex, or being able to have children, who would like to make friends with a girl who smells fishy?

Based on the above, my choice is clear!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I want to be a WHALE!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.

We live in an era where the media set the word "beautiful". Only thin is beautiful.  I personally prefer to enjoy ice cream with my kids, a nice dinner with my partner, peers, and coffee with my friends of the same age.

As the years go by we gain slowly weight, mostly because we gather a lot of wise information that gathers in our head. When there's no more room for all this wisdom to fit, it gets distributed to the rest of our body. WE ARE NOT FAT! WE ARE JUST EDUCATED AND WISE, AND OF COURSE, ADORABLE  AND HAPPY!

From now on, when I look at my ass in the mirror, I tell myself: 'Oh, you are so smart !!!!»

Que lastima...

..this is a poem by Maya Angelou...

...Oh how you used to walk
With that insouciant smile
I liked to hear you talk
And your style
Pleased me for a while.

You were my early love
New as a day breaking in Spring
You were the image of
Everything
That caused me to sing.

I don't like reminiscing
Nostalgia is not my forte
I don't spill tears
On yesterday's years
But honesty makes me say,
You were a precious pearl
How I loved to see you shine
You were the perfect girl.
And you were mine.
For a time.
For a time.
Just for a time.

Paraiso!

...what would you call a place where, wherever you turned you head you saw chocolate in every shape and form, all kinds of cakes, miles and miles of sweets, people offering to try whatever looked good in your eye, ice cream in every flavor, cheese pies, bread, cookies...oh cookies!

...a diabetics hell!

...chocolate, chocolate, chocolate...

...and the smell....

* * * *

****

...don't feel bad, I didn't eat anything either...

****

...even these were made out of chocolate...

****

****

...it was the baker's fair held in Athens, with thousands of people attending, eating, drinking, tasting...
...with lots of new things to discover..
...and a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon...
